MISSA DA AURORA

A Missa da aurora honra o segundo nascimento de Cristo: o nascimento da graça e da misericórdia, que se realiza no coração de cada fiel, como aconteceu no coração dos pastores que foram visitar Jesus.

Epístola (Tt 3, 4-7)

Leitura da Epístola de São Paulo Apóstolo a Tito.

Caríssimo: Apareceu-nos a bondade de Deus, nosso Salvador, e o seu amor pelos homens; não foi pelas obras de justiça, que nós tivéssemos feito; mas foi pela sua misericórdia que Ele nos salvou, mediante o Batismo da regeneração e renovação do Espírito Santo, que Ele difundiu sobre nós abundantemente por Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador; a fim de que, justificados pela sua graça, sejamos herdeiros da vida eterna, segundo a esperança que temos de a possuir um dia, em Jesus Cristo, Nosso Senhor.

Evangelho (Lc 2, 15-20)

Naquele tempo: Os pastores diziam entre si: Vamos a Belém e vejamos o que lá aconteceu, e o que o Senhor nos manifestou. Partiram, pois, a toda pressa, e encontraram Maria e José, e o Menino deitado na manjedoura. Ao verem isto, reconheceram que era o que lhes tinha sido dito acerca do Menino. E todos os que os ouviram, se admiraram das coisas que lhes diziam os pastores. Maria, por seu lado, conservava todas estas coisas, meditando-as no seu coração. Então, os pastores voltaram, glorificando e louvando a Deus por tudo o que tinham ouvido e visto, conforme lhes tinha sido anunciado.

Epistle (Titus 3: 4-7)

Lesson from the Epistle of Blessed Paul the Apostle to Titus.

Dearly beloved, when the kindness and love of God our Saviour for humanity were revealed, it was not because of any upright actions we had done ourselves; it was for no reason except his own faithful love that he saved us, by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our Saviour; so that, justified by his grace, we should become heirs in hope of eternal life.

Gospel (Luke 2: 15-20)

The continuation of the holy Gospel according to Luke.

At that time the shepherds said to one another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath showed to us. And they came with haste and they found Mary and Joseph, and the Infant lying in the manger. And seeing they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this Child. And all that heard wondered: and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
