SANTO DO DIA

Santo Antonino, Bispo e Confessor

Festa de 3ª Classe- Missa “Statuit”

Nasceu na Itália, no ano de 1389, cujo nome de batismo era Antônio (e que ficou conhecido como Antonino devido sua estatura). Pertencente a uma família nobre, Antonino caminhou para os estudos de Direito, mas devido ao forte chamado do Senhor, tomou a decisão de ser religioso.

Encontrou certa dificuldade para ingressar nos Dominicanos, mas com humildade e perseverança superou as barreiras e expectativas, pois por sua radicalidade na vivência do Evangelho tornou-se um exemplo como religioso. Obediente à regra e perseverante, começou a ocupar grandes responsabilidades de serviço chegando a Superior.

Convocado pelo Papa, Antonino, o pequeno gigante, foi chamado para ser Bispo e logo Arcebispo de Florença. Cheio do Espírito Santo, trabalhou com prudência e energia contra tudo o que atrapalhava as famílias e por isso sofreu muito, mas por uma causa justa, ou seja, para levar muitos para Deus. Entrou na Igreja triunfante com 70 anos.

LEITURAS/LESSONS

Leitura (Eclo 44,16-27;45,3-20)

Leitura do livro do Eclesiástico. 

Eis o grande sacerdote que nos dias de sua vida agradou a Deus e foi considerado Justo; no tempo da ira tornou-se a reconciliação dos homens. Ninguém o igualou na observância das leis do Altíssimo. Por isso jurou que o havia de glorificar em sua descendência. Abençoou nele todas as nações e confirmou sua aliança sobre sua cabeça. Distinguiu-o com as suas bençãos; conservou-lhe a sua misericórdia e ele achou graça diante do Senhor. Enalteceu-o diante dos reis e deu-lhe uma coroa de glória. Fez com ele uma aliança eterna; deu-lhe o sumo sacerdócio, e encheu-o de felicidade na glória,  para exercer o sacerdócio e, cantar louvores a seu Nome, e oferecer-Lhe dignamente incenso de agradável odor.

Evangelho (Mt 25, 14-23)

Naquele tempo, disse Jesus a seus discípulos essa parábola: O reino dos céus é como um homem que, tendo de viajar, reuniu seus servos e lhes confiou seus bens. A um deu cinco talentos; a outro, dois; e a outro, um, segundo a capacidade de cada um. Depois partiu.Logo em seguida, o que recebeu cinco talentos negociou com eles; fê-los produzir, e ganhou outros cinco.Do mesmo modo, o que recebeu dois, ganhou outros dois. Mas, o que recebeu apenas um, foi cavar a terra e escondeu o dinheiro de seu senhor. Muito tempo depois, o senhor daqueles servos voltou e pediu-lhes contas. O que recebeu cinco talentos, aproximou-se e apresentou outros cinco: – Senhor, disse-lhe, confiaste-me cinco talentos; eis aqui outros cinco que ganhei.’ Disse-lhe seu senhor: – Muito bem, servo bom e fiel; já que foste fiel no pouco, eu te confiarei muito. Vem regozijar-te com teu senhor. O que recebeu dois talentos, adiantou-se também e disse: – Senhor, confiaste-me dois talentos; eis aqui os dois outros que lucrei. Disse-lhe seu senhor: – Muito bem, servo bom e fiel; já que foste fiel no pouco, eu te confiarei muito. Vem regozijar-te com teu senhor.

Lesson (Ecclesiasticus 44. 16-27; 45. 3-20)

Lesson from the Book of Wisdom

Behold, a great priest, who in his days pleased God, and was found just; and in the time of wrath he was made a reconciliation.  There was not found the like to him who kept the law of the most High. Therefore by an oath the Lord made him to increase among his people. He gave him the blessing of all nations, and confirmed His covenant upon his head. He acknowledged him in His blessings; He preserved for him His mercy ; and he found grace before the eyes of the Lord.  He glorified him in the sight of kings, and gave him a crown of glory. He made an everlasting covenant with him, and gave him a great priesthood : and made him blessed in glory. To execute the office of the priesthood, and to have praised in His name, and to offer him a worthy incense for an odor of sweetness.

Gospel (Mt 25: 14-23)

At that time Jesus said to his disciples this parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven it is like a man about to go abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one, each in proportion to his ability. Then he set out on his journey. The man who had received the five talents promptly went and traded with them and made five more. The man who had received two made two more in the same way. But the man who had received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now a long time afterwards, the master of those servants came back and went through his accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. “Sir,” he said, “you entrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made.” His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you are trustworthy in small things; I will trust you with greater; come and join in your master’s happiness.” Next the man with the two talents came forward. “Sir,” he said, “you entrusted me with two talents; here are two more that I have made.” His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you are trustworthy in small things; I will trust you with greater; come and join in your master’s happiness.”
