SANTO DO DIA

Nossa Senhora da Medalha Milagrosa

Nossa Senhora da Medalha Milagrosa é uma invocação especial pela qual é conhecida a Santíssima Virgem Maria, também invocada com a mesma intenção sob o nome de Nossa Senhora das Graças e Nossa Senhora Medianeira de Todas as Graças.

Medianeira (em latim: Mediatrix) na mariologia refere-se ao papel da Virgem Maria como sendo mediadora de todas as graças e bençãos através de Jesus. É um conceito distinto de Co-Redentora. Essa doutrina é baseada no fato de que Maria deu à luz Nosso Senhor Jesus, que é a responsável por todas as graças e bençãos concedidas à humanidade, assim ela participou da mediação dessas graças, devido ao seu Filho ter sido concebido em Seu Seio. Papas, como Leão XIII e Pio XII têm tradicionalmente apoiado esta interpretação.
No século XIX, o termo medianeira aparece na bula papal Ineffabilis Deus do Papa Pio IX, e em vários encíclicas sobre o Santo Rosário do Papa Leão XIII. O Papa Pio X utilizado o termo na encíclica Ad Diem illum e o Papa Bento XV introduziu uma nova festa Mariana em que ela é colocada como Medianeira de todas as graças (em 1921).

A hiperdulia, que está inserido na dulia, diferencia-se muito da latria, que é o culto de adoração prestado e dirigido unicamente a Deus.A Igreja ensin a diferença de culto a Deus, a Virgem Maria aos santos.

Assim, diz adorar somente a Deus, prestando-lhe culto de “latria”, a Virgem Maria somente venerar com o culto de “hiperdulia” e aos santos o culto de veneração simples denominado de “dulia”, fundado no dogma da comunhão dos santos. Este dogma ensina que os habitantes do Céu, através da sua oração, são os nossos intercessores junto de Deus, sendo este facto favorável ao gênero humano. Logo, eles são dignos da nossa veneração. A veneração especial à Virgem Maria deve-se ao facto de ela ser a Mãe de Deus, e por extensão, a Mãe de todos; a Rainha de todos os Santos e concebida sem pecado original (Imaculada Conceição, isto significa que mesmo as graças concedidas aos santos passam primeiro nas mãos da Virgem Maria) e, como tal, e a unica e perfeita mediadora diante de Nosso Senhor Jesus Jesus Cristo e Nosso Senhor diante do Pai (Timóteo 2:5, São Tomás de Aquino,Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo é o perfeito mediador entre Deus Pai).

Leitura da Epístola de São Paulo Apóstolo aos Colossenses. (Col. 1, 9-14)

Irmãos: Não cessamos de orar a Deus por vós, e de pedir que tenhais pleno conhecimento de sua vontade, em toda a sabedoria e inteligência espiritual: para que possais andar de uma maneira digna de Deus, agradar-lhe em tudo, frutificar em toda boa obra, e crescer no conhecimento de Deus; fortalecidos em toda a virtude pelo poder
de sua glória; em toda a paciência, longanimidade e alegria; rendendo graças a Deus Pai, que nos tornou dignos de participar da herança dos Santos na luz. Ele nos tirou do poder das trevas e nos transportou ao Reino do seu Filho amado, por cujo Sangue temos a redenção dos pecados.

Sequência do Santo Evangelho segundo Mateus. (Mt 24,15-35)

Naquele tempo, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: Quando virdes estabelecida no lugar santo a abominação da desolação que foi predita pelo profeta Daniel (9,27) – quem ler, entenda – então os habitantes da Judéia fujam para as montanhas. Aquele que está no terraço da casa não desça para tomar o que está em sua casa. E aquele que está no campo não volte para buscar suas vestimentas. Ai das mulheres que estiverem grávidas ou amamentarem naqueles dias! Rogai para que vossa fuga não seja no inverno, nem em dia de sábado; porque então a tribulação será tão grande como nunca foi vista, desde o começo do mundo até o presente, nem jamais será. Se aqueles dias não fossem abreviados, criatura alguma escaparia; mas por causa dos escolhidos, aqueles dias serão abreviados. Então se alguém vos disser: Eis, aqui está o Cristo! Ou: Ei-lo acolá!, não creiais. Porque se levantarão falsos cristos e falsos profetas, que farão milagres a ponto de seduzir, se isto fosse possível, até mesmo os escolhidos. Eis que estais prevenidos. Se, pois, vos disserem: Vinde, ele está no deserto, não saiais. Ou: Lá está ele em casa, não o creiais. Porque, como o relâmpago parte do oriente e ilumina até o ocidente, assim será a volta do Filho do Homem. Onde houver um cadáver, aí se ajuntarão os abutres. Logo após estes dias de tribulação, o sol escurecerá, a lua não terá claridade, cairão do céu as estrelas e as potências dos céus serão abaladas. Então aparecerá no céu o sinal do Filho do Homem. Todas as tribos da terra baterão no peito e verão o Filho do Homem vir sobre as nuvens do céu cercado de glória e de majestade. Ele enviará seus anjos com estridentes trombetas, e juntarão seus escolhidos dos quatro ventos, duma extremidade do céu à outra. Compreendei isto pela comparação da figueira: quando seus ramos estão tenros e crescem as folhas, pressentis que o verão está próximo. Do mesmo modo, quando virdes tudo isto, sabei que o Filho do Homem está próximo, à porta. Em verdade vos declaro: não passará esta geração antes que tudo isto aconteça. O céu e a terra passarão, mas as minhas palavras não passarão.

Epistle

Lesson from the Epistle of Blessed Paul the Apostle to the Colossians. (Coloss. 1: 9-14)

Brethren, we cease not to pray for you, and to beg that you may be filled with the knowledge of the will of God, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding that you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might according to the, power of His glory, in all patience and long suffering with joy giving thanks to God the Father, who hath made us worthy to be partakers of the lot of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His Blood, the remission of sins.

At that time, Jesus spoke to the multitudes this parable: At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: When you shall see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (he that readeth, let him understand:) then they that are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains and he that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take anything out of his house and he that is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat. And woe to them that are with child and that give suck, in those days. But pray that your flight be not in the winter, or on the sabbath: for there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been found from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be: and unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved but for the sake of the elect, those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say to you: Lo, here is Christ, or there do not believe him for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. Behold I have told it to you beforehand. If therefore they shall say to you: Behold, he is in the desert, go ye not out. Behold He is in the closets, believe it not. For as lightning cometh out of the east, and appeareth even into the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be: Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the eagles also be gathered together. And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty. And He shall send His angels with a trumpet and a loud voice, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them. And from the fig tree learn a parable: when the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh. So you also, when you shall see all these things, know ye that ìt is nigh at the doors. Amen I say to you that this generation shall not pass till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
