Matthaeum 19:3-12
In illo témpore: Accessérunt ad Iesum pharisaei, tentántes eum et dicéntes: Si licet hómini dimíttere uxórem suam quacúmque ex causa? Qui respóndens, ait eis: Non legístis, quia, qui fecit hóminem ab inítio, másculum et féminam fecit eos? et dixit: Propter hoc dimíttet homo patrem, et matrem, et adhærébit uxóri suæ, et erunt duo in carne una. Itaque iam non sunt duo, sed una caro. Quod ergo Deus coniúnxit, homo non séparet. Dicunt illi: Quid ergo Móyses mandávit dare libéllum repúdii, et dimíttere? Ait illis: Quóniam Móyses ad durítiam cordis vestri permísit vobis dimíttere uxóres vestras: ab inítio autem non fuit sic. Dico autem vobis, quia, quicúmque dimíserit uxórem suam, nisi ob fornicatiónem, et áliam dúxerit, moechátur: et qui dimíssam duxerit, moechátur. Dicunt ei discípuli eius: Si ita est causa hóminis cum uxore, non expedit nubere. Qui dixit illis: Non omnes cápiunt verbum istud, sed quibus datum est. Sunt enim eunúchi, qui de matris útero sic nati sunt; et sunt eunúchi, qui facti sunt ab homínibus; et sunt eunúchi, qui seípsos castravérunt propter regnum coelórum. Qui potest cápere, cápiat.

Naquele tempo: Os fariseus vieram perguntar-lhe para pô-lo à prova: É permitido a um homem rejeitar sua mulher por um motivo qualquer? Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Não lestes que o Criador, no começo, fez o homem e a mulher e disse: Por isso, o homem deixará seu pai e sua mãe e se unirá à sua mulher; e os dois formarão uma só carne? Assim, já não são dois, mas uma só carne. Portanto, não separe o homem o que Deus uniu. Disseram-lhe eles: Por que, então, Moisés ordenou dar um documento de divórcio à mulher, ao rejeitá-la? Jesus respondeu-lhes: É por causa da dureza de vosso coração que Moisés havia tolerado o repúdio das mulheres; mas no começo não foi assim. Ora, eu vos declaro que todo aquele que rejeita sua mulher, exceto no caso de matrimônio falso, e desposa uma outra, comete adultério. E aquele que desposa uma mulher rejeitada, comete também adultério. Seus discípulos disseram-lhe: Se tal é a condição do homem a respeito da mulher, é melhor não se casar! Respondeu ele: Nem todos são capazes de compreender o sentido desta palavra, mas somente aqueles a quem foi dado. Porque há eunucos que o são desde o ventre de suas mães, há eunucos tornados tais pelas mãos dos homens e há eunucos que a si mesmos se fizeram eunucos por amor do Reino dos céus. Quem puder compreender, compreenda.

Matthew 19:3-12
At that time, there came to Jesus some Pharisees, testing Him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for any cause? But He answered and said to them, Have you not read that the Creator, from the beginning, made them male and female, and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? Therefore now they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder. They said to Him, Why then did Moses command to give a written notice of dismissal, and to put her away? He said to them, Because Moses, by reason of the hardness of your heart, permitted you to put away your wives; but it was not so from the beginning. And I say to you, that whoever puts away his wife, except for immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries a woman who has been put away commits adultery. His disciples said to Him, If the case of a man with his wife is so, it is not expedient to marry. And He said, ‘Not all can accept this teaching; but those to whom it has been given. For there are eunuchs who were born so from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made so by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves so for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him accept it who can.
